Advisory jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights according to the protocol 16

With the entry of Protocol 16, the European Court of Human Rights Court has been expanded to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedom. By expanding competencies, the Court is authorized to provide advisory opinions on the proportion of principles regarding the interpretation or application of rights and freedoms defined at the request or freedoms defined by the Convention or Protocols with it. Such extension of competencies was done to improve the dialogue and relationship between the court and national authorities.
